WE 2016 - Jolys

Chateau Jolys 2014
(Jurançon Sec)
89/100
Half and half Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng, this is a classic dry Jurançon blend. Soft and rich, it’s a wine that is dry while demonstrating fine fresh fruitiness. The structure and strongly mineral texture both suggest the need for aging, so drink from 2018.

Château Jolys 2014
Cuvée Pauline (Jurançon Sec)
90/100
While Petit Manseng is more often made into a sweet wine, its natural richness does lend itself to dry wine as well. Here it gives an intensely perfumed wine, floral and spicy together. Crisp apples and kiwis are made richer with a tincture of honey.

Chateau Jolys 2014
(Jurançon)
88/100
The wine is intensely rich and fresh at the same time. Still young and from super-ripe almost shrivelled grapes, this is a wine to age. It needs time to develop, so wait until 2019.

Chateau Jolys
Cuvée Jean (Jurançon)
93/100
Apricot and mango aromas give this wine an immediate opulence. It is ripe and honeyed although with the enormous, age-worthy acidity and flavours of pineapple and passion fruit. The wine sis till so young and shouldn’t be drunk before 2019.

Chateau de Jurque 2014
Fantaisie, (Jurançon Sec)
88/100
The wine is ripe and bone dry. It has a tight structure, mineral texture and intense acidity. There is a bitter edge in this young wine that will blow away as the ripe white fruit asserts itself. At the end, there is a touch of honey.

Chateau de Jurque 2014
Tendresse, (Jurançon)
92/100
Still young, this is a structured wine with richness and sweetness at this stage. Yellow fruits are integrated into a tight, mineral texture that will open up over the newt few months.

Chateau de Jurque 2014
Séduction, (Jurançon)
82/100
With nine months of oak aginf, the sweetness of this wine has been balanced with hints of toast. It is so fresh as well as sweet, the intensity of the acidity is almost shocking at what is still a young age. Drink this peach-apricot flavoured wine from 2019.
